Being Unlucky With Love

Charlotte had always desired that romantic loving relationship with her knight in shining armour, who would come along and save her, especially after experiencing a few heartbreaks. She had many conversations with her friends about why she kept attracting the wrong men and wondering what was wrong with her. Charlotte’s friends would do their best to reassure her and say “there’s nothing wrong with you, you’ve just been unlucky so far” No matter how many times she heard this she still felt the same way as though there was something about her that was broken and didn’t deserve the love she so desired.

The love she desired was a love where she would be loved for who she was, which would take away her thoughts that she should be taller, and have a different body shape more like the models in the beauty magazines she read and movies she watched. With the man she desired she would feel safe to be with him and comfortable to be herself however she felt he would be a strong rock of support for her.

One day at work after a disastrous date the night before, her boss noticed that she wasn’t her normal chirpy self and asked where the change came from. After Charlotte had shared her dating story from the night before and her relationship history, her boss reflected on their own dating journey and how similar the two were. The boss remembered what changed their luck in dating and said that they knew someone who could help her change her luck.

The connection was made between the boss’s friend and Charlotte, initially she thought her boss may have known a suitable man to date. That wasn’t the case though it certainly helped change Charlotte’s dating luck. Over a few months Charlotte noticed that the way she felt inside about herself was different, it was no longer to look like a supermodel or famous actress, she enjoyed being who she was. Charlotte also noticed a difference in the men who were around, they were treating her differently.

Along with feeling different Charlotte had begun to do some of the things she had dreamed of doing for years, but didn’t because she felt she couldn’t. Charlotte was now comfortable in who she was, she thought back to the day her manager made the introduction, back then she couldn’t comprehend feeling this way about herself. Charlotte hadn’t even heard of a relationship coach back then and wouldn’t have thought to look for one.
